Reports To: Head of School

Overview: The Director of Admissions creates, directs, and implements the admission, financial aid, and retention process that leads to the healthy enrollment of mission-aligned students and families. As a school administrator who reports directly to the Head of School, the Director of Admissions plays a vital leadership role at the school, serving as a member of the Leadership Team that sets strategy and seeks synergies that align and strengthen the school’s programming and reputation.  In addition, the Director of Admissions attends and reports annually at meetings of the Board of Trustees and has an important voice and role in the school’s strategic planning efforts.

Essential Functions:

Admissions:

  • Create and implement enrollment strategy, including new enrollment and retention;
  • Oversee financial aid program and serve on the financial aid committee;
  • Manage and evaluate admission staff; oversee the Admissions Office, budget, mailings and marketing materials;
  • Prepare statistical reporting for Board of Trustees and Leadership Team;
  • Stay current on enrollment, girls’ schools, marketing, financial, and demographic trends;
  • Work closely with pre-secondary schools, youth organizations and parent groups to develop and maintain meaningful, mutually beneficial relationships;
  • Conduct systematic and efficient handling of applications and communication with candidates and their guardians; conduct interviews as necessary, arrange for admissions testing as needed and communicating final decisions to the appropriate individuals;
  • Ensure all applicants and their families and well cared for and stewarded through the admission’s process through clear communication and thoughtful, high-quality events that effectively share the work and mission of SDA;
  • Oversee the implementation of the Student Ambassador Program;
  • Manage the re-enrollment of current students for the succeeding year.

Institutional Strategy:

  • Serve as a member of the school’s leadership team and strategic communications team;
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned by the Head of School.

Job Requirements:

Successful candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree;
  • Experience with, and understanding of admission and financial aid process, and the unique qualities of independent girls’ schools;
  • 3-5 years of successful experience leading a school admission program;
  • Demonstrated success managing and supervising a team;
  • Strong writer with excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Strong, compelling speaker;
  • Technology savvy;
  • Commitment to diversity and inclusivity and possession of the skills necessary to lead in a diverse community;
  • Personal and professional alignment with the St Dominic Academy Mission;
  • Established success with program implementation, branding, and strategic visioning;
  • Excellent interpersonal and managerial skills.

This is a 12-month, full-time position.  Workdays are Monday through Friday; some nights and weekends will be required for Admissions and school events.

 

Compensation:

Salary is commensurate with experience. Benefits include medical, dental and vision insurance as well as a 401K, vacation, sick, and personal time off.
