Saint Dominic Academy-Head of School Update

Dear Members of the SDA Community,

As you know, we recently hosted two Head of School candidates for a second round of interviews. Thank you for your participation in the process and for welcoming each woman so warmly. The Search Committee is especially grateful to those of you who took the time to put your feedback in writing.

After careful deliberation, the Search Committee has chosen not to recommend either candidate to the Board of Trustees. As you know, each candidate has significant administrative experience in secondary education, and each possesses several of the skills and competencies we seek; however, neither meets all of the criteria we have established for this important position.

As I stated from the beginning of this process, our goal is to find the very best person to lead our school. We remain committed to that outcome. We will reopen the search in January 2010 and look forward to a successful resolution in the early spring.

In the mean time, I continue to be honored to serve as interim Head of School and I look forward to continuing to work with you and our wonderful students in the weeks ahead.
